Moving an AdMan Installation

Please Note: Your license can be transferred to another server, but after you have finished transferring the AdMan software, you MUST own a license for every server that is running AdMan.

This posting will demonstrate how to move an AdMan installation from to

1. Ensure that you have PHPMyAdmin installed on both your web servers. If you do not, you can download it for free at

2. Ensure that you have a suitable text editor installed on your computer. If you do not, we recommend jEdit, which can be downloaded at

3. Use a web browser to access PHPMyAdmin on (usually accessible at Click on Databases in the main window. Then click Export and check "Add DROP DATABASE" and "Save as file" and click "Go". Save the .sql file to your local computer.

4. Open the .sql file in a text editor and replace all occurrences of "" with "". This can be done in jEdit by selecting Search->Find from the menu and using the replace window that opens.

5. Follow the directions at to do a fresh AdMan installation on the server.

6. Use a web browser to access PHPMyAdmin on Then click the Import tab and run the .sql file mentioned above. Note: If your existing installation contains a lot of data, you may need to perform this step using the command line.

7. Use an FTP client to transfer all the files in and to and respectively. You may want to first download the files from to your computer and then upload these files to

8. Remove the AdMan installation on by deleting the old database tables using PHPMyAdmin and software in and using an FTP client or command line.
